We had a successful meeting with Mr Banda, the manager of Chongwe Community Radio where we introduced Green Gold Social to the radio station in hopes of signing an MOU so that the station would give us discounted rates for radio shows seeing as we are self funded and very limited on finances.
In exchange for this, we would give Chongwe community radio trees to plant at the station, involve their community journalists in our outreach programs and pay them a stipend and commit to paying full rates once we get funding.
All this was agreed pending final approval from the Chongwe Community Radio board, which Mr Banda said would not be a problem because the station was committed to raising awareness on environmental conservation, which is in line with our mandate of planting trees for reforestation and agroforestry.
